We know that laptops are very useful when used mobile, meaning they can be used anywhere. Even when there is no electrical power, a laptop should be able to be used well. Now, this is where your laptop battery plays a role.

Straight to the point, there are several things you need to know when you want to save laptop battery. Maybe it can also be used to save computer electricity at home or in the office, because basically it's the same thing. Using resources as needed.

Here is the list of ways to save laptop battery according to me:

Closing applications running in the background

There are some applications that automatically run when you turn on the laptop, so you yourself are not aware or paying attention to what applications are running at that time.

To overcome this, you can open task manager and disable applications that you think do not need to run automatically. Although this will not close currently running applications, you will get the benefit later when the laptop is restarted.

To close running applications, close them using task manager as well, on the process manager tab.

By opening only necessary applications, it is expected that the processor does not require much power.

Adjusting power mode

Battery indicators are usually always present in any operating system, for example Windows 10. If you want to save battery, set the battery starting from the lowest level, battery power saver.

Setting the battery to power saver mode makes the processor work at its base frequency, usually processor manufacturers have provided a threshold for processor capability to save power.

If with these settings, you experience difficulties such as video stuttering, or poor laptop performance, then start increasing to the next level until your laptop runs well.

That way, the laptop will work with sufficient frequency.

Lowering screen brightness

Laptop screens can also contribute to wasteful laptop battery usage. If possible, find a room that has medium light or is not too bright so that the screen can still be seen comfortably at around brightness below 70%.

Don't use screen brightness always at 100% too often. If possible, maximum at 90%.

Personally, I use brightness around below 50% if in a dim room. Even sometimes if I use it in a room that is not too bright, I am still comfortable at the lowest brightness.

Can turning off WiFi or airplane mode save laptop battery?

Can turning off WiFi save laptop battery? My answer is possible, but not significantly impacting compared to saving battery by adjusting processor mode, running applications, and screen brightness levels.

Especially if you really need WiFi to work or study, it's impossible to turn off WiFi just to save a little battery. Moreover, the advantage of a laptop is mobility including having its wireless connection.

If you intend to be more productive, so you can focus on what you act doing, I support that.

Conclusion: save laptop battery by adjusting processor mode, running applications, and screen brightness levels.

Laptop battery can indeed be saved by adjusting several things, especially devices that contribute the largest power such as processors, graphics cards, monitor screens, and applications running in the background.
